Shin
(korean > faith, belief, trust)
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Gijinka Species: Charizard
Alliance: Master
Rank: Bounty Hunter
Kin: Altan (brother)
Hair the color of rusted blades. Eyes as calm as a storm over the sea. He has fair skin with an assortment of hideous scars on his back and torso: whip marks. He is missing his left arm. Hot-headed in conversation. Level-headed and cool as tempered steel when engaged in combat. Shin leaves little to the imagination when you say he had a tough life. One look at him proves that well enough. He tends not to speak of it, feeling it to be a private matter of his own. He and his older brother were sold as children to slavers when his parents could no longer afford to keep them. He was very small, so he barely remembers the family he came from, but he remembers hoping and praying that they would come for him and rescue Altan and him from their predicament. He really believed they would, until he was separated from his brother a month later. Altan had been sold, but Shin was not considered worth much. So he was kept by the slavers and taught basic tasks. He kept on with his fool hopes and dreams, so they beat it out of him. He kept quiet about his thoughts, but he never lost heart. When he was nine, Shin was sent to the galleys of the Fire Nation's navy. One of the ships had run afoul and was in desperate need of hands. Hands that could do work, regardless of whom they belonged to or how old they were. Shin was one of several boys on the ship who worked. They had to shovel coal into the furnaces all day then do other chores around the ship for all of the night, which depending on the chores, was better than furnace duty. For several months this dragged on, and it seemed that almost everyday, Shin did something wrong that earned him a beating. Hence his scars. As for his arm, he will not say. Ever say. In fact, after the Fire Nation vessel he crewed was considered lost in Earth Kingdom waters when he was twelve, the history of what happened to the crew is unknown. When the boys were finally reunited, nearly ten years since they were separated, they barely recognized each other. They still tend to travel apart. It is not common to see the brothers together. Primarily since both of them are still slaves. Shin's master is a bounty hunter. He is being trained in the art, but still is their slave.
